Interpersonal Communication

My interpersonal communication skills course is focused on one primary concept: no one is out to get you. Therefore, miscommunications are rarely malicious- even when they hurt.

Discover how to navigate our not-so-shared language and decrease friction at work, at home, and in your community service organizations.

De-escalation training

This course focuses on de-escalating individuals in crisis or who may be struggling with anger. Utilizing active listening and deliberate body language, students will learn to keep themselves and their loved ones safer when presented with a threatening individual.

Personal safety

This course discusses the basics of personal safety in a world full of growing concerns. We will discuss situational awareness, risk assessment, and tailor individual strategies to each student’s personal context.

Please note that this is not a weapons or martial arts training course, although it may be hands-on. This course is focused on how to move safely through the world.

Sacred Space

This course focuses on building “the sacred mundane,” by bringing your spirituality into everyday life moments. These practices are evidence-based ways to connect with your own Spirit, and increase your awareness of the sacred moments in your life.

Community safety

Utilizing the principles of community outreach and hundreds of years of historical organizing, we will discuss how your community can come together and identify, assess, and respond to potential threats of all kinds.

This course is highly recommended for neighborhood watches, church communities, and other mutual aid-style organizations.

Resilience Training

Here, we focus on building distress tolerance and resilience with evidence-based practices to help individuals, groups, and organizations prevent burnout and not only survive, but thrive, in difficult situations both at home and within their communities.
